RTMCC Price $6,900.00

This is a custom display from our former store Rocket Town. The display was designed and constructed by a leading maker of interactive museum displays for NASA visitor centers, Space Camp, etc. This display provides a Mission Control multimedia center that allows visitors to view NASA TV, videos, and mission status information via the Internet. Included is a 55” HDTV widescreen TV, two 30” TV monitors, and four 17” interactive touchscreen computer stations. This equipment is mounted to metal Octanorm fxtures (shelves) and are networked to multiple input devices… cable/satellite TV, DVD/VHS players, and computer CPUs with Internet access. The overall size of the display is 12’ long x 8’ high x 4’ deep. The front of the multimedia center is enclosed with a high-tech facade, consisting of multiple stainless steel panels to hide the background equipment and to give it a built-in look. The panels are attached via Velcro to allow easy access to equipment components. “Mission Control Center” lettering is provided to top off the display. This lettering is modeling after the signage in the actual Mission Control Center at NASA Johnson Space Center. These letters can be mounted to the display or surrounding wall via Velcro.

The four touchscreen computer stations allow visitors to select information for viewing. A mission control software package provides high-tech looking menus that send visitors to websites and/or HTML pages stored locally on the computers. This menu package can be easily programmed to customize the selection. Switching hardware and cabling is provide to allow you to select and route multiple TV/audio inputs to the 55 widescreen TV and 30” monitors. A separate PC CPU is provided to allow internet content to be displayed on the three TVs. For example, we often displayed a NASA web page that presented an orbital groundtack map of the Space Shuttle and International Space Station during missions.

Overall hardware component list:
1 – 55” HDTV widescreen TV
2 – 30” CRT TV monitors
4 – 17” touchscreen monitors
4 – PC CPUs for touchscreen (each CPU comes with a mouse and keyboard, but these are used for setup purposes only)
1 – PC CPU for input to the 3 TVs
1 - Switching/routing hardware

This Mission Control multimedia center would make an excellent interactive display for a space or science museum. It is in excellent condition and was used for only 2.5 years.
