The Simplified Aid For EVA Rescue (SAFER) is a is a "mini-jetpack" that attaches to the backpack of the space suit. It is worn by astronauts when conducting a spacewalk on the International Space Station. If an EVA astronaut accidentally becomes untethered and drifts away, he can activate SAFER and fly back to the space craft.

If you look carefully on the back of an astronaut's space suit, you will find this patch.
