Apollo 14 Back-Up Crew Patch
This parody on the Apollo 14 crew patch created by Shepard, Roosa & Mitchell, was created by their back-up crew and bears the names of Cernan, Evans & Engle. It depicts the Road Runner (representing the Back-up crew) already standing on the moon while an "old" Wile E. Coyote comes along at its leisurely pace. The "Beep Beep" at the top of the patch is what the Road Runner always says as he outwits Wile E. Coyote in the cartoons. The back-up crew stuck these patches throughout the Command Module of Apollo 14 as a "Gottcha" to the crew during the flight. 4" diameter embroidered patch.
