Spaghetti with Meat Sauce Space Meal
This space meal includes a mouth-watering Italian-style tomato sauce, accompanied by tender pasta and accented with chunks of beef. Just add hot water, stir, and your meal is ready to serve. Freeze-dried foods like this are eaten by astronauts under weightlessness conditions in space. Originally developed for the early Apollo missions, food is frozen to -40 degrees F (-40 degrees C) and then vacuum dried and placed in a special foil pouch.
