Ice Cream Sandwich Space Snack
This tasty treat includes delicious vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate wafers. It is ready to eat with no refrigeration needed. Freeze-dried foods like this are eaten by astronauts under weightlessness conditions in space. Originally developed for the early Apollo missions, food is frozen to -40 degrees F (-40 degrees C) and then vacuum dried and placed in a special foil pouch.
