The Space Race Book and DVD

This 32-page full-color magazine-style book by space history expert Robert Godwin describes the history of the U.S.-Russian space race. It starts with the scientists who fathered the study of spaceflight, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky and Robert Goddard. The history continues through the U.S. moon landings in the Apollo era.

A high-quality DVD comes with the book. Producers searched the archives of Universal Newsreel and came up with 70 minutes of rare and unique news and feature footage, which includes Yuri Gagarin and Alan Shepard.
